Tuesday TV: 'Frontline' in Egypt, More 'Housewives'

Tuesday TV: 'Frontline' in Egypt, More 'Housewives'Tuesday TV: 'Frontline' in Egypt, More 'Housewives' Latest news update about;Tuesday TV: 'Frontline' in Egypt, More 'Housewives';At a point when Big Bird is appearing before Congress, pleading for funds not to be cut, might not be the best time to unveil a new documentary about a gay, junkie, foul mouthed, wife-shooting beat author. The subject of Yony Leyser's "William S. Burroughs: A Man Within" this week on "Independent Lens" (WGBY, Channel 57, Tuesday, 10 p.m.) may be just the kind of target PBS foes in Congress are looking to sink.
But if they're looking for something to champion on PBSTuesday TV: 'Frontline' in Egypt, More 'Housewives' , it may be the timely and insightful new "Frontline" (CPTV, 9 p.m.), "Revolution in Cairo," that covers the uprising in Egypt by looking inside both the technological-savvy youth movement that helped ignite it and the Muslim Brotherhood that aided its effort.
Do we really need a new group of well-preserved upper class gals harping on social snubs? Absolutely not, of course. But "The Real Housewives of Miami" (Bravo, 10 p.m.), at least carries a Latin flavor to its lineup of lovely women with hearts of stone, though they almost apologize for not being blonde, in deference to the rest of the bickering franchise.
